Sentiamoci a Sassari 2026. Eartraining Workshop & Forum - dal 19 al 21 marzo 2026
Introduction
The “Luigi Canepa” Conservatory of Music (Sassari, Italy) presents the first edition of the international Ear Training workshop “Sentiamoci a Sassari”—three days entirely dedicated to listening pedagogy, musical perception, and the most innovative teaching practices currently adopted across Europe.
The workshop originates from the long-standing experience developed at the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory in Parma, thanks to the pioneering work of Prof. Fabio Ferrucci. Over the years, Sentiamoci a Parma has brought together more than 200 teachers from 26 different countries, fostering an unprecedented international network and contributing to the dissemination of cutting-edge methodologies and teaching approaches across Europe.
This experience also led, in 2022, to the creation of the Second-Level Annual Master’s Programme “Specialisation in Music Theory, Rhythm and Aural Skills – Ear Training”, the only programme of its kind in Italy and among the very few in Europe specifically dedicated to the advanced training of future Ear Training teachers.
In recent years, the workshop has also been hosted by the “V. Bellini” Conservatory in Catania. The Sassari edition continues this well-established tradition, offering a unique opportunity for students, teachers, and professionals interested in the evolution of Ear Training as a central discipline within contemporary music education.
The invited lecturers – coming from various European institutions – will offer practical lessons, demonstrations, hands-on activities and interactive discussions, providing an international and multidisciplinary perspective that highlights the dialogue among different pedagogical approaches.
Each speaker will actively involve all participants
through exercises, guided listening, analysis sessions, body-based activities,
improvisation, and collaborative work. The workshop is designed as a dynamic
and participatory environment where students, teachers can experience
first-hand the methods and strategies presented, engaging directly with
some of Europe’s leading specialists in the field.
The aim is to offer an intense and immersive educational experience that not
only enriches the participants’ musical skills but also inspires new
pedagogical ideas to bring back into their own academic and professional
contexts.
